I actually think these printers look pretty decent even in 2024. I've looked at dozens of models and have 4 printers. Yes they're not the flashiest or latest anything, but *reliable* out of the box is more important to me than any of that and I don't need to print high speed PLA

I have a question that is a bit off topic. I've recently printed a multiple part print using tpu filament, everything printed without fail. I have now gone back to pla, and nothing will print properly. It appears to be under extruding. I've cleared the nozzle and ptfe tube as well as changed the extruder drive screw. Nothing seems to work, please help.

I have one. It's awesome. Suggestion is to make MORE parts more easily accessible / findable on your website. I had to resort to other resellers for that reason.

I hate to say, but the Elmer’s purple glue stick does not help very well with bed adhesion! I think it dries out way too fast to make anything stick long enough!

Price to license check a print sale? So we pay any royalties to the actual thing license owner. Do you advise where to license a design? Does that site have Migrate our things in? Does that site have Transfer our things to another user's account once there so we can sell them? The most basics being sales.

from my experience the problem is commontly a mechanical failure of the stepper motor ball bearings (2 inside one front one back) and their low quality + overtensioning belts (wear and tear). I repaired everything by simply replacing the balls bearings (5mmX16mm with 5 mm shank) plus reduced the tension for the future , so that is just tight enough. Plus you can change the stupid belt that gets damaged over time, even if it is an "expensive" one. So 2 bearings per motor = 1 euro + belt = 3 euros. For 2 motors = 6 euro +the z axis (just bearings) = 7 euros in total. Have fun

If you are manually leveling, with a post-it note or a scrap of paper, using a brim with give you a little bit of time to fine-tune the bed height if the brim isn't sticking, raise the bed until it sticks.

I have a V2 I'm taking out of mothballs. 9 years ago I got a sheet of aluminum as I read it was better for ABS warping. I never really got consistent ABS prints as the hot-end could barely get up to temp. 1. Should I use aluminum bed? how do I avoid shorts? I have a couple of small pieces of tape on heated bed (per construction manual) but I do recall warnings about shorting the bed with Aluminum. Do I just need to stay away from the obvious contacts next to where I soldered the LED? 2. There are a couple V2 compatible hot-end upgrades on the SeemeCNC website but the site seems dead - just a clearance warehouse as far as I can tell. They have not responded to e-mails. Should I even consider the rostock specific hot-ends, or are there better options now? It's a shame SeeMeCNC does not appear to have survived. For the year that I was printing (2014) there was a fairly active forum community but it seems to have sputtered out around the time I put my printer away.

I complained on the customer review section about a roll of AnyCubic filament. AnyCubic sent me to this video for educational purposes. I've known for years that there is an opinion that a tangle is impossible unless you let go of the end and take your eyes off it to see where that end went. Certainly, dropping the end COULD result in a user created tangle. Of course that could happen. But the opinion that it's impossible: wrong. It is possible. Being very much aware of the myth (and believing it to be true), I never let go of the end as I opened it and loaded it onto my printer. It jammed up every time I left the room for more than a few minutes. I would straighten a tangle and start again. Then it would jam again. Part of the myth (that it's impossible to have a tangle from the factory) is in the definition of the word. What happens at the factory may not be a "tangle", but it's a trapped loop that get buried under more very tight loops. The fix is to unroll the spool until you release that trapped loop. Then you start printing again and hope there are not more trapped loops. One method I tried with some success is to secure the end of the filament, then put it back in the box and shake it quite a lot. Hopefully that will help those trapped loops to find their way out. Sorry for so many words. By the way, AnyCubic is sending me another roll and I appreciate it.

I mixed the part A and part B completely wrong - 1:1 by weight - and I only realized after I had applied it to the whole entire print. I don't have access to a 3D printer for the next 2 weeks and this is supposed to be given as a gift next week. I had planned on doing another coat anyways, so I am thinking I will try to let this harden/ cure and then mix another batch correctly and apply it over? Does this seem like a good plan? Does anyone have any experience with XTC-3D? I also notice a lot of air bubbles, especially when applying in smaller areas with foam brush. Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Good review on the 3D software scene though... 3D software, 3D scanners and 3D printers... affordable to use at home! What an awesome time to be alive!

And in 2024, Ultimaker have become practically unserviceable in the UK, like obtaining belts, accessories and print heads that are now unavailable in the UK and their main suppliers won't ship outside the US and Canada. If like me you unwisely invested £4000+ another £2K in accessories on an Ultimaker 3D printer back in 2021, you're probably as frustrated as I am by the lack of product support just three years on. That seems to be the problem with manufacturers nowadays, they produce so many different models, existing models and support for them become obsolete even before the supposed warranty period expires. I can't deny the Ultimaker S3 is a fantastic printer, if only there was a reliable consistent UK supplier of Ultimaker materials and accessories. Instead of extortionately high prices being demanded from private sellers on eBay. And don't get me started on the S3's lack of connectivity to the Digital Factory Add printer feature, that's the biggest deal-breaker of all. This is my opinion, I could be wrong.
